O-RAN CUS Specification has seen six major revisions over the past two years since the first release of the spec in March 2019. Emphasis of some these changes is to reduce the fronthaul overhead, particularly for FR1 massive MIMO O-RU, and allow flexibility to perform some compute intensive operations in O-RU. This presentation provides an in-depth analysis of some of the key changes in Control and User planes of the specification with emphasis on FR1 massive MIMO radio.
