mmWave Fixed Wireless Access is one of the promising solutions to provide broadband connectivity for both urban and rural areas. Due to the well-known propagation challenges of mmWaves, the key for mass deployment of this new technology is to be able to bring the mmWave signal indoors. During recent years, some innovative solutions have been proposed. However, they are either expensive, power hungry, require a range of 5G mmWave compatible equipment for full indoor coverage, and/or do not consider the visual impact for customers.
In this webinar, a solution to address these challenges is presented. This disruptive solution is enabled by the world’s first transparent phased array antenna for mmWave designed by ALCAN Systems. In addition to being transparent, when combined with AGC WAVETHRU technology, this Antenna solution can overcome low-emissivity (low-E) glass penetration losses. The outcome is a single unit indoor Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) with the performance of an outdoor receiver.
